Only a couple more weeks until our athletes compet

Only a couple more weeks until our athletes compete in the @throwdownseries taking place at the Richmond Oval on September 28-29th. There will be 4 events on Saturday and 1 on Sunday.

All our athletes are looking forward to competing and representing FA. It should be a great weekend with some challenging tests.

Even if you’re not competing, it’s a great opportunity to come watch, cheer on and support our crew. We always enjoy having the loudest group in the stands 😉

Congrats to @andrea.cruick.shank and @amanda_pataky for finishing all 4 of the 5 min August challenges before September 3rd. It took extra time and effort but now you get to enjoy some well deserved ice cream gift cards to @thegelatomafia 😋 coming your way from the prize draw.

Congratulations to everyone else who competed all 4 of the workouts. Even if you didn’t complete all 4, still putting out the effort to complete even 1 or 2 extra workouts is something to celebrate and be proud of. Especially, having put in the time during a summer month. When all we want to do is be in the sunshine.

FA looks forward to help carry this momentum you have brought to your training heading into the fall. Perhaps we will have a few more fun challenges coming your way.

Week 2 is done. August challenge #3 is here. And we have a spicy ladder for you. It will definitely be testing your grip.

We wonder how high you can get up the ladder. If you get to 10 reps of each movement feel free to continue and see how far you can go. It’s only 5 minutes.

As far as the lunges go, you just need to alternate legs each rep and Dumbells are held at your side. And on the DB deadlifts, only one head of the DB must touch the ground on the outside of your feet.

Let’s keep growing the names on the August challenge board. Encourage your gym buddy or buddies.

Amazing job to everyone who tackled week 1 of the August fitness challenge. We saw some great scores on the 5 minute row for calories.

This week is a bit different. We have a light barbell paired with a sprinkle of burpees…

5 Minute AMRAP:
6 Hang Power Cleans RX:95/65 SC:75/55
4 Thrusters
2 Lateral Burpees over the Bar

Couple things for this workout…

Make sure that you start the first clean from the hang, not the floor. You can also step or jump over the bar on the burpees.

Also, we will be giving away 2 gift cards for @thegelatomafia . They have the best gelato and cookies in town. You must complete all 4 weeks and put up your scores before September 3rd for a chance to win the gift card.

Our hearts go out to the family of Lazar Djukic. This is a tragic loss for them as well as the entirety of the CrossFit community. The man was a fierce competitor and always had a smile on his face. His legacy will live on. RIP
