Ages 5-11 - Sundays at 11:15am - 12:15pm
Ages 9-11 - Sundays at 12:30pm - 1:30pm
Ages 5-9 - Sundays at 2:00pm - 2:45pm
What is Gymnastic Fundamentals?
Ages 5-11
This program will build a strong foundation to introduce your child to gymnastics or improve her current skills and focus on fun. Without a doubt, strength and conditioning is one of the most important aspects to the sport of gymnastics. It is a foundational pillar that must be present in training for performance success, optimal health, and a reduced risk of injury.
This program will lay a strong foundation for gymnastics. It will also build strength, improve cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, balance, coordination, and body awareness.
It will build strength for bars and rings, leg power and strength for tumbling and vaulting. The skills taught include rolls, handstands, cartwheels, round offs, bridge, walkovers, beat swings and glide swings, muscle ups, proper gymnastics positions, jumps, leaps, splits, turns and dance while building self confidence and self-esteem. At the end of each 10-week session, the kids will perform and showcase their skills for family and friends.
